NSCC Waterfront Campus
Technical brilliance.
The NSCC Waterfront Campus in Sydney, Nova Scotia, serves as an educational center and offers state-of-the-art facilities that meet the academic and professional needs of students, while withstanding the extreme climatic conditions of the North Atlantic thanks to its innovative terracotta façade supplied by TONALITY®. Designed by Moriyama Teshima Architects and executed with rainscreen solutions from Engineered Assemblies, the campus offers an outstanding combination of aesthetic appeal and technical excellence. The terracotta façade integrates high-performance, thermally broken rainscreen technology with six inches of mineral wool insulation, ensuring superior thermal performance and maintenance-free operation. In addition, the building’s environmentally friendly features, such as a geothermal heating and cooling system and a net-zero-ready classification, make it a pioneer in sustainability and environmental protection.
These outstanding features and commitment to sustainability were recently recognized with the prestigious RAiNA Award.
