Emergency Service Facility
Orderly grid, precise joints
The Emergency Services Facility in Somerville, New Jersey, is a clearly structured building with a prominent address on Gaston Avenue, designed by SmithGroup. TONALITY® supplied the terracotta façade in two special colors with the G1-1 surface. The building envelope combines high robustness with a calm, high-quality appearance: low reflection, pleasant feel, and precise lines. The orderly grid of terracotta elements supports proportion and orientation, while carefully designed joints clearly structure the volume. The choice of materials ensures durability, easy maintenance, and stable color effects in everyday urban life. The result is a reliable, identity-creating outer shell for the police, fire department, and emergency services—functional, durable, and timeless.
